Exercise Mistakes You Need To Stop Making


If you are on a mission to get fit yet you are not seeing the results you had hoped for, it could be because you are making some critical mistakes when exercising. A lot of people are making errors when working out without realising it. With that in mind, read on to discover more about some of the common exercise mistakes that you could be making….

Ignoring the pain you are experiencing – Yes, you should feel exhausted after working out. Yes, your muscles may even feel a little bit sore. However, you need to recognise when you have gone too far. Pain is not a normal reaction to a workout session. There are some people that even take painkillers so they can continue working out. This is a big, big mistake! Pain is not weakness leaving the body, no matter what people may say! It is your body telling you that something is wrong. Ignoring pain, or even worse, covering it up, can be exceptionally dangerous.

Using poor quality equipment – It does not matter whether you have a squat rack with weights in your home or your own treadmill, you need to make sure you invest in quality. If you purchase poor quality equipment, this could be doing more harm than good. This is why you need to take your time when shopping; do your research and read reviews that have been left by previous customers too.

Taking too much rest time in between sets – Rest time is a necessity in between sets, so do not overlook it. However, you need to make sure you do not rest for longer than the workout itself. In most cases, a rest that amounts to half of the workout time will be optimal.

Doing the same exercise routine every time – You cannot do the same thing all of the time and expect improved results. You need to switch up your routine so that you are working on different parts of your body and challenging yourself. Not only this, but you will quickly get bored if you are doing the same thing all of the time. Variation is the key to success when exercising.

Eating too much before you workout – Last but not least, a lot of people are eating too much before working out without realising it. This is because their pre-workout supplement is loaded with sugar. This could lead to a crash halfway through your routine. Whenever you buy stuff like this, make sure you read the ingredient list.
