Dr Will Bar

Live Fit | Dr. Will BarDr Will is a genius. He has created a bar that not only travels well but tastes GREAT, is super good for you, plus it does an amazing job of staving off hunger for an hour or two.
These bars are packed full of healthy fats: nuts and seeds; and dried fruit. Best of all, whether you are in the middle of an activity or sitting at your desk, the Dr Will Bar will give you sustained energy WITHOUT that sugar crash that is often associated with eating other bars and high carb snacks.

My whole family loves these bars. I also find them to be a perfect recovery food after a hard workout or bike race. It’s easy on the stomach and satisfies me for a few hours until my next meal.
The Dr Will Bar is also perfect for a mini meal. Take them on business trips, on the plane, keep some in your car, purse, wherever. Hold off hunger till you can get a healthy meal.

Mountain Rose Herbs

Live Fit | Mountain Rose HerbsI absolutely love these guys. They have such a huge selection. I buy all of my of teas (herbal and camellia sinensis), moisturizers and spices from Mountain Rose Herbs. Great quality and great prices. What more could you ask for?

Equipment

SelectTech Adjustable Dumbbells

Live Fit | Select Tech dumbellsThis is the only piece of exercise equipment to date that has ever made me giddy. These dumbbells are so neat. They work well, are quiet, and adjustable to the point that you don’t need any other weight equipment.

BOSU Ballast Ball

Live Fit | Bosu Ballast BallThis is one of the staple in my exercise programs. The Bosu Ballast ball is great for stabilizing activities, core, arm and leg strength. The sand at the bottom keeps it from rolling around uncontrollably, and it weighs 5 bls so it can also be used as a weight. This is the best ball on the market.

Elastic Tubing

Live Fit | Elastic tubing
Elastic tubing is great for home and travel. They can be used alone or attached to a stationary object such as a door or bed posts. They are light and compact and can be carried easily in a small bag or purse. Body weight exercises, such as pushups and squats are easy to do anywhere, but pulling moves are more difficult. With elastic tubes you can pull and push anywhere.

Live Fit | Reduction - A Diet Overview
No list of resources would be complete without the author’s own books. This one is mine. The first in a series of 4 on the subject of fitness history. This 43 page ebook will give you a history of weight loss diets and how they relate to you.

Buddhist Boot Camp

Live Fit | Buddhist Boot CampBy Timber Hawkeye

This is the book written by one of the most fascinating guests I’ve had on my podcast. He has such an wonderful and down to Earth perspective on health, life and happiness. His book is based on his experiences coming to terms with his own humanity. My guess is, everybody could learn something from him. No kidding. If you doubt it, give episode 18 a listen.

Enter The Zone

Live Fit | Enter The ZoneBy Barry Sears
This book pretty much changed my life. It sounds like an exaggeration, but seriously, I would not be where I am, doing what I do if it weren’t for this book. I have been following the teachings of this book since I discovered it in 1997. I had always had wild blood sugar swings – until I “entered the Zone”. I also found I lost a few inches around my waist. This book has been the foundation of my nutrition recommendations to all my clients and my weight management program.

Food Rules

Live Fit | Food RulesBy Michael Pollan
This is probably THE best book out there for healthy eating. It is made of up short, easily digestible bites of brilliant information. Read it and live by it and you will be nutritionally healthy. If everybody did this, I’d be out of a job.

Eat, Drink, and Be Mindful

Live Fit | Eat, Drink, and be MindfulBy Dr. Susan Albers
This is one of my favorite books relating to eating awareness and the emotions that are so often attached to food. It is structured like a course and includes worksheets and quizzes.
