Do you want to get the best from your time and effort while training? It doesn’t matter if you are training for a Marathon, a hike, or simply good health – the truth about Sports Nutrition is that it can mean the difference between winning or not finishing.

But, even if you are not the competitive type, knowing proper nutrition can help with your weight loss, weight gain, and fitness goals. Whether you workout in a gym, or in nature, Sports Nutrition will allow you to maximize your results and effectiveness of your efforts. Food plays a major role in your performance and recovery.

In this episode, Glenn explains how you can maximize your performance with your eating and drinking. Sports nutrition is most important for high level athletes, but it is also a factor for anyone who is active: The weekend warrior, the daily gym goer and the competitive amateur (and pro) alike will benefit from these tips.

Sports nutrition can be broken down into three periods:

  1. Before
  2. During, and
  3. After

Inside these three time periods are three components:

  1. What
  2. When, and
  3. How much

The “what” can further be broken down into these nutrients:

  1. Carbohydrates
  2. Protein
  3. Fat
  4. Water, and
  5. Electrolytes

If you know these and how your body responds, you will know sports nutrition and you will be able to improve your performance.
