Easy Ways To Get Fit and Exercise For Less

If you were planning to get fit and exercise more this year, then how are things going? There can be many obstacles to start with that can demotivate you and make things harder. One of those can be how much it can cost you to have exercise as a hobby. From a gym membership to getting the right shoes or clothing, it can feel like you’re spending a lot of money before you’ve even stepped foot out of the door. So here are some ways that you can still exercise and get fit, but not spend lots and lots of money.

Go Outside Running

 

As long as you’ve got some running shoes, then there is nothing stopping you from going out running. You can take it at your own pace and could even start off with walking that then builds up to running. There are many apps that you can get, for free, to help. Things like Couch to 5K or Map My Run are good to get. Running can help weight loss as well as fitness levels. So it should be part of everyone’s routine. How far and fast you go is up to you.

 

Try Cycling

 

Sometimes it can feel a but counterproductive to drive over to a gym, where you then spend time cycling on a stationary bike. If you had just gone out cycling from your home, it would make more sense, right? Plus you don’t have the added cost of a gym membership. If you already have a bike at home, then you’ll be good to go. If you don’t, then watch out for road bikes for sale until there is one at the price you are looking for. It is certainly an investment worth making, though. Good bikes last for a long time and can be repaired easily. So although it is some money up-front, it will be worth it in the long-run.

Use YouTube

 

There are many different videos and channels to allow you to exercise at home for free. And when you are in the comfort of your own home, no one will care if you’re not in the latest gym clothing. YouTube is a great resource for exercise. So you could find a cardio program, a Zumba video, or even an abs challenge to try out. The only thing with this is that you are not being monitored by an exercise professional. So if you’re new to exercise, speak to your doctor first. You should also try to keep the best technique to avoid injury. Take as many breaks as you’ll need, to make sure that your form is kept on point.

 

Use Your Phone

 

I have mentioned some apps that are good for running, but there are many more. You can find exercise challenges on there, as well as other workout plans and programs, all for free. Even an app like Pokemon Go will get you out and about exploring. Walking is as good of an exercise as any! So browse the app store and see what looks good.
